ENGAGEMENT/PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT

wedding photographer, weddings, Scotland, engaged, newlyweds, ceremony, scottish wedding photography, Glasgow, wedding photography in Scotland, bride, groom

An engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot is a great way to get comfortable with being in front of the camera before your big day. It gives us the chance to work together and get to know each other a bit better so you’ll feel more at ease when it’s time for wedding photos. Not only will you get photos to cherish and use for save-the-dates or decor, it will also allow you to practise prompts and see what feels right for yourselves. Therefore, making your wedding day experience that much smoother.

What is the difference between an engagement and pre-wedding?

The only difference between the shoots is the timing of them. Whether you choose an engagement or pre-wedding shoot, both offer great benefits. The pre-wedding shoot is typically arranged 2-3 months before the big day, giving you time to practise prompts and feel more relaxed when it’s time for your wedding photos. The engagement shoot is often scheduled shortly after booking your wedding. It can serve a practical purpose, for example, using the photos for save-the-date cards or your wedding website. It can also simply be a way to celebrate your newly engaged status with professional photos.

Where can we do the shoot?

If you have a special location in mind, please let me know! Many couples choose a place that holds personal meaning such as a childhood memory, first date or where they enjoy going for a walk at the weekend. I’m based on the outskirts of Glasgow and if you are thinking of a location further away, please just let me know and we can discuss the details.

What should we wear?

There are no set rules. Some couples love to dress up, while others prefer a relaxed & casual look. What matters most is that you choose what feels best for you. You don’t have to match your partner exactly, but aim for colours that complement each other. Try to avoid clashing colours, as well as big logos or slogans which can be distracting in photos. The goal is to keep it simple & timeless!

Can pets/children be included?

Definitely! Having a dog myself, I know how much they are part of your family and I totally understand wanting them to be included. If you have children it is also a great opportunity to bring them along. This way, they will feel more comfortable with me on the big day and we can capture some lovely, candid moments together.
